What is food?

  1. Any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink or that plants absorb or intake in order to grow and sustain healthy life.
  2. Food is a conduit for nutrients.
  3. It is one central thing about human experience that can open up both senses and our experiences to our place in the world
  • What are nutrients?
Nutrients are substances in food that our body needs to function properly throughout the day.

  • Why we need to eat food daily?
  1. Just as a power station requires gas or coal to power its turbines and generate energy same as living beings such as humans, animals  and plants  require  fuel  in  form  of  food  to  power  our  continued  existence.
  2. Some dietitians recommend that you eat every two hour for a boosted metabolism. Others say you can just eat three meals a day without any snacks in between to attain and maintain a healthy weight. 

  • What would happen if a person stopped eating?

Incredibly, it is possible to survive for between three weeks to seventy days without eating. 

But the impact is devastating as our body muscles and bones start weakening and heart failure occurs in some cases.

Microorganisms which are so tiny living creatures require food on daily basis to divide and live


WE DON'T EAT BECAUSE WE HAVE TO EAT EVERY DAY  .........WE EAT BECAUSE WE CAN'T HELP EATING EVERY DAY.
